Karachi, Sept 19: Former Pakistan junior team batsman Farhan Adil was denied an opportunity to learn the finer points of the game from Australian Cricket Academy (ACA) when he was denied visa by the Australian Embassy on Tuesday.
According to sources, the Australian Embassy rejected the visa arguing that the player, who has represented Pakistan at the Under-19 and A levels, would slip in Australia.
Interestingly, the Adelaide-based Australian Cricket Academy had accepted the admission of 22-year-old Farhan Adil and had sent a request to its Embassy.
Farhan was being sent by Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) at its own expense for the three-week training.
Rashid Latif, who runs the institution, refused to make any comments but sources close to him said he would fax Australian Embassy's written remarks to ACA director on Wednesday with a plea to ask the Embassy to reconsider its decision.
Farhan Adil is one of the promising batsmen who represents Habib Bank in the domestic first-class circuit.
