Gloucestershire CCC announces FirstGroup as the 2000 Floodlit Series Sponsor

On Tuesday 11th April 2000 at 10.00am, members of the press and media are invited to join Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and The Lord Mayor of Bristol for the launch of FirstGroup as the 2000 Floodlit Series Sponsor at The County Ground, Bristol.
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club with the support of the UK's largest public transport operator, FirstGroup, will be hosting five Day/Night matches in the 2000 season.
Piers Marlow, Divisional Director FirstGroup South West and Wales said "Sponsoring the 2000 Floodlit series provides a wonderful opportunity for FirstGroup to work together with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club to make cricket more accessible to it's supporters".
Colin Sexstone, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club's Chief Executive said: "We are delighted that FirstGroup are coming on board to support Floodlit Cricket for the next two years. We see Floodlit cricket as the future of cricket, and with five matches being played under lights this year and with FirstGroup's support, we anticipate a very successful relationship".
Gloucestershire is putting itself on the map as it hosts The First-Ever International Floodlit Match in the UK on Thursday 6th July between West Indies and Zimbabwe, the first match in the NatWest Triangular Series.
The highlight of the domestic season is the NCL Floodlit match when Gloucestershire Gladiators meet local rivals Somerset Sabres on Wednesday 9th August 2000. This match is expected to be a sell out, and for the first time Gloucestershire will be selling tickets in advance.
Gloucestershire also play Leicestershire Foxes on Monday 28th August and host two International Floodlit Warm-Up Matches on Monday 3rd July, Zimbabwe v New Zealand `A' and Tuesday 4th July, West Indies v New Zealand `A'.
First Bristol Buses will be bringing a W registration Single Deck Volvo, for a photo opportunity at The County Ground and light refreshments will be served at the Club Shop from 10.00am.
