Matthew Hayden is expected to play in the first Test against Pakistan at Perth that starts this Friday. Last week, he missed the third one-day international against New Zealand, which was washed-out, because of a hamstring injury.
"I don't think it's a tear, it's more of a strain. A lengthening thing, more of the tendon than the muscle itself," Errol Alcott, the Australia team's physiotherapist, told The Australian newspaper. "Missing last Friday night's game was all about making sure he was at his best for this Test. He ran around this morning and was pretty happy with it, and it felt good over the weekend."
Hayden, 33, took 380 off Zimbabwe the last time he played at Perth, where the three-Test series against Pakistan begins on Thursday.
