Injury concerns delay naming of State Auckland Aces team for round six State Championship match

Injuries to several key players has required State Auckland Aces coach and convener of selectors, Tony Sail to name thirteen players on the eve of the match against the State Northern Knights on Eden Park's Outer Oval.

Cornwall's Richard Morgan and Howick Pakuranga's Sanjeewa Silva come into the State Auckland Aces squad for the match against the State Knights.

Injuries to Tama Canning and Llorne Howell sustained during the win against the State Canterbury Wizards last week have made good progress, although a final decision on both players will be made tomorrow morning.

Gareth Shaw joins Kyle Mills and Dion Nash on the injury list after sustaining a groin injury in the field during the match last week. Mark Haslam is unavailable because of work commitments and Adam Parore is still being rested.

Eden Park and Auckland Cricket have also decided to transfer the two remaining home rounds of the State Championship from the Eden Park Outer Oval to the Auckland University ground at Colin Maiden Park due to the heavy workload the pitch has received this season. The poor spring weather, heavy workload this summer and upcoming international commitments have conspired to make the change necessary.

The two remaining home State Championship matches for the State Auckland Aces against the State Otago Volts from the 25-28 February and State Wellington Firebirds from the 24-27 March will now be played at Colin Maiden Park.
