Kashmir Club defeated Metropolitan Parks and Markets by 50 runs on
Sunday to gain their third lien on the Kingston and St. Andrew Cricket
Association' Atlas Trophy.
Batting first in the 35-over per side match played at the Police
Officer's Club, Hope Road, Kashmir, winners of the title in 1990 and
1994, posted 204 for six off 35 overs and limited MPM to 154 all out
of 31.3 overs.
Batting for Kashmir, Danny Cayman scored 60 with three sixes and three
fours, Donovan Nacti 29 with six fours, Andrew Greenwood 21 not out
with one six and three fours, Garnet Gabdul 19, and Kenny Isaacs 16.
The successful bowlers for MPM were Ricardo McLean with two for 29 and
Samuel Forbes two for 38.
Batting for MPM, who were in early trouble at 32 for three, Donald
Bredwood scored 33 with four fours, Dexter Barnaby 27 with one six and
three fours, Kevin Murray 19, and Forbes 17.
Isaacs, with three for 13 off 5.5 overs, Dennis Robinson two for 32,
and Nacti two for 37 were Kasmir's leading bowlers.
Meanwhile, the presentation ceremony of the Robinson Cup cricket
competition which was scheduled to be held this evening at the
Classique Settings has been postponed and will now be held on
Wednesday, July 15.
