CRICKET: Three centuries and a six-wicket haul highlighted
yesterday's opening day of the two-day Sunlight Cup semi-finals
at St. Catherine and Melbourne Park.
Scoring centuries were Bevan Brown and Joseph Pinnock of St.
Catherine and Sean Cousley of Kingston College, while Jermaine
Lawson of Waterford bagged six wickets.
At Melbourne Park: Cousley scored 112 to pilot KC to 315. He got
good support from Kemar Duncan 41, Merrick Watson 49 and Shane
Brooks 31. Cousley's 112 came from 143 balls and included 10
boundaries. Lawson took six for 77 off 27.2 overs.
Cousley's only blemish came when he was dropped by Waterford's
captain Royan Smith while on 98. He shared in three half century
stands with Kemar Duncan (41), Merrick Watson (49) and Shane
Brooks (31).
At St. Catherine High: Bevan Brown and captain Joseph Pinnock
put the St. Andrew Technical bowlers to the sword, scoring 149
and 113 not out respectively as St. Catherine High piled up a
massive 385 for four declared.
STATHS were 24 without loss at the close with openers Gregory
Thomas and Damion Thomas unbeaten on five and nine respectively.
