Kenya beat holders Uganda by 26 runs in the final of the regional Under-15 boys at Aga Khan Sports Centre in Nairobi on Saturday. Uganda took some consolation when their women's side defeated Kenya by 45 runs at Premier Club
Kenya U-15s batted first and made a respectable 195 in their 40 overs based on a solid 38 by skipper Madan Sundaran, and Uganda never recovered from a poor start as they slid to 55 for 5 in the 10th over. Nadeem Hirji (45) led a spirited middle and lower-order fightback to steer them to 169.
At Ruaraka Sports Club, Tanzania won the third-place play-off beating Kenya A by four wickets after bowling them out for 75.
Uganda's women made 158 in their innings, and Kenya were always off the pace before being bowled out for 110 with more than four overs to spare.
