Miandad rues cancellation of Toronto series

Karachi: Pakistan coach Javed Miandad on Friday said India's withdrawal from the Toronto series has taken the gloss off what is a great forthcoming season.

Miandad, who resumed his duties after returning from England after vacations, added that India have also dented their reputation by pulling out for the second successive time.

"The forthcoming season is tremendous. We play host to England and India (provided the tour is not cancelled) besides touring Kenya and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, this office was flooded with telephone calls from the cricket fans. While some said cricket and politics should not be mixed up, majority said why the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was so keen to play them.
