Microsoft and Wipro, software giants, will be competing for the rights to host the Board of Control for Cricket in India's website. The final financial schedules will have to be submitted on August 14 and the winner will be announced the same day, the board said in a statement on Monday.
"The two competing parties in the fray are The Cricket Network (TCN) in partnership with Sun and Wipro, and Microsoft along with TCS," the BCCI said. "The selection will be undertaken by Accenture, which was recently appointed by the BCCI as the nodal agency for advice and consultation on the final selection of the web portal in an objective manner."
The board also announced three other tenders: for the official provider of formal wear and accessories for the team (from September 2006 to August 2010), for the event management partner to produce and execute the BCCI ratings and awards (from September 2006 to August 2011), and for the partner to market and sell ground rights at all overseas neutral venue matches (from September 2006 to March 2011).
The tenders will be available from August 3 at the board's office in the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The final date for submission is August 11. The winner of the bids will be announced at the marketing sub-committee meeting in Chennai on August 14.
