National men's squads named for 2011-12

The Hong Kong National Selectors have announced the National Mens squad for the coming twelve months and a National 'A' squad comprising Hong Kong's best up and coming players that will train and play together under the guidance of the National Coach.

The criteria for selection included the following:

(a) Commitment and attitude
(b) Performance (International tournaments, Sunday League and Sunday Cup and EPS);
(c) Building a squad for 2013.

The National Men's squad consists of two groups of players:

(a) 15 eligible players based in Hong Kong who will be subject to training programs as determined by the National Coach; and
(b) 4 eligible players based overseas, who will need to report regularly to the National coach informing him of their cricket performances overseas and their availability before international tours. During their visits to Hong Kong they will be required to play in domestic cricket and be part of any national training programs that are in progress.

To be eligible for Hong Kong selection, players must have been born in Hong Kong and/or hold an HKSAR Passport and/or hold a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card (i.e. seven-year resident). In addition, players with more than four years residency (being resident in Hong Kong for at least 183 days in each year) are also eligible however as only two such players are allowed to be named in any Hong Kong representative team. Therefore the number of players named in this category is limited.
