The Pakistan board has advertised its need for an assistant coach to Geoff Lawson, who was recently appointed coach of the national team.
The advertisement, displayed on the PCB's official website, asks for applications from those who possess Level-II coaching certification or have played Test-level cricket. The applicants must also have a good knowledge of computers.
The key responsibilities of the job include, "providing support to the national coach in video analysis and SWOT analysis for each game/team" and "maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of matters sensitive to the PCB's operational outlook".
Earlier Lawson had said that he would like Javed Miandad to be part of the coaching crew after Miandad slammed his appointment as coach claiming that not only was Lawson a foreigner, and thus "less patriotic", but also that, on merit, Dav Whatmore was the better option. On Lawson's statement about wanting him on board, Miandad had said he was available whenever Pakistan cricket needed him.
The assistant coach will be appointed for an initial period of two years and the board is accepting applications for the post till August 15.
