Selectors discuss team today

KARACHI, Aug 21: The team for the Sahara Cup will be discussed by the selectors on Friday, informed sources said.

Chief selector Salim Altaf and Shafiq Ahmad are in Lahore but the two would be joined by Zaheer Abbas only on telephone. It is believed that the team would be submitted to Majid Khan on Friday afternoon so that it can be presented before the Executive Council on Saturday afternoon for approval.

The expected 14 are: Ramiz Raja (captain), Saeed Anwar (vice-captain), Ijaz Ahmad, Salim Malik, Inzamamul Haq, Hasan Raza, Moin Khan (wicketkeeper), Saqlain Mushtaq, Mohammad Husain, Shahid Afridi, Aqib Javed, Azhar Mahmood, Shahid Nazir and Shoaib Akhtar.
