A PCB spokesman spoke to CricInfo after press reports of India's cancellation of the proposed Pakistan tour. After indicating that the PCB had not officially been contacted by the BCCI at this point, he expressed disappointment at the
India's apparent withdrawal. He suggested that in addition to resulting in the loss of some good cricket, it will result in considerable losses in earnings for both
countries. He further suggested that PCB will review its policy about playing
against India after the situation becomes clear. The ten-year programme of
interlocking test series proposed by the ICC includes Pakistan matches with India and this may well be in jeopardy.
He also confirmed that Bangladesh has made a verbal offer to play two tests and
three one-day international series in Pakistan and Pakistan play three tests and three one-day internationals in Bangladesh.
Malaysia hosts a three-nation tournament that involves India and Pakistan.
Although Pakistan is committed to the Malaysian Cricket Association, their
participation may be reconsidered.
