South African great Barry Richards is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka for
his first of three stints as Sri Lanka's specialist batting coach just
before the Sharjah tri-series with Pakistan and Zimbabwe in October.
The secretary of the Interim Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket
in Sri Lanka (BCCSL), Ashantha de Mel, confirmed that Richards will arrive
on the 25th September for a two-week coaching stint with players from the
national and the A squad.
The former South African and Hampshire opening batsman was similarly
employed by the Sri Lankan board before the World Cup in 1999.
