Bats, balls, and bouncers on Swarnavahini
This week Swarnavahini's sports magazine, The A to Z of Sports,
features a cricket special titled ``Bats, Balls and Bouncers
with Boycott.'' This programme hosted by cricketing great and
commentators, Jeff Boycott, offers viewers a feast of
spectacular fast bowling.
Any programme focussing on the subject must of course be
dominated by those exponents of the art - the fiery West
Indians. We are treated to some of the most ferocious bowling
ever to be unleashed at a batsman, with the likes of Joel
Garner, Curtley Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, and Ian Bishop doing
their best to wreck havoc and mayhem amongst the world's
batsmen. No batsman seems safe against this potent assault of
sheer pace and aggression.
The programme rounds off with great West Indian Batsmen getting
a few wizzers in return, from the likes of Wasim Akram, Angus
Frazer, Merv Hughes, Waquar Yunis, and Craig McDermott.
``Bats, Balls, and Bouncers with Boycott, airs tonight at 8.10
p.m.
