Sachin Tendulkar has hit out at the media for their latest theories about how is batting will be affected by that elbow. Journalists have been speculating that, when Tendulkar resumes playing later this year, he may switch to using a lighter bat in order to protect his joints.
But Tendulkar refused to comment on whether he would eschew a heavy bat, and he responded by saying that he will come to his own conclusions about what will work for him. "People seem to have decided a lot of things for me," Tendulkar told BBC Sport. "I will decide what's good for me. That's what I have done for 16 years."
Tendulkar has been troubled by tennis elbow for nearly two years, and he had surgery in England in May this year. He has been left unable to play cricket for four months, and has been omitted from India's touring squad to Sri Lanka. However, Greg Chappell, India's new coach, wants Tendulkar to attend the camp for a few days.
