Former Test pacer Mohsin Kamal and ex-first-class cricketer Ali Zia
are likely to be appointed new Bangladesh coaches, sources said.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have already announced that Trevor
Chappell's contract will not be extended.
Sources said the two Pakistanis were in final stages of finalizing the
deal. One of the sources said the duo had been appointed by the BCB.
Mohsin and Ali Zia are in the panel of Pakistan coaches groomed by the
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The two were also part of Lahore's
National Cricket Academy. Meanwhile, the ICC has sent television
footage of Junaid Zia's bowling action. Objections on his bouncers and
short-pitched deliveries have been raised. The matter has been
forwarded to the PCB's bowling advisors.
Sources said besides Junaid, teenage off-spinner Munir Ansari will
also undergo training from the bowling advisors.
Pakistan junior selectors and the under-19 coach Saturday met chairman
of the PCB Lt Gen Tauqir Zia. While the selectors stressed that the
team had been selected purely on merit, the coach blamed the batting
for team's failure to qualify for the semi-finals of the Youth World
Cup.
Pakistan lost to Nepal and the West Indies in the league round.
