Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of South Africa's ODI series against England with a right adductor (groin) strain.
Rabada was left out of the third T20I at Newlands due to the injury, with Lutho Sipamla taking his place in the playing XI. A CSA release said that his injury was expected to take around three weeks to heal, meaning that he will play no part in the three ODIs which start on Friday.
Rabada will be released from the biosecure environment in Cape Town on Wednesday to begin his recovery and rehabilitation, and it is hoped that he will be fit to lead the attack in the Test series against Sri Lanka, which starts on Boxing Day.
With an enlarged 24-man squad named for the series due to Covid-19 protocols, South Africa are unlikely to name a replacement for Rabada.
