too full and Goudie angles the bat away, the ball races between cover and point and Goudie punches the air as he jogs the winning run
Afghanistan vs Scotland, 13th Match at Rotterdam, Jul 09 2010 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Well, we should know by now that Scotland never make it easy again, but those 19 wides bowled by Afghanistan have cost them dear. A flurry of late wickets gave Afghanistan hope of a miracle but Goudie came in at number 10 to hit the winning runs.
Fraser Watts started the innings patiently and stuck about while the run rate lingered between 2-3 runs per over. There were two wickets a piece for Zadran, Nabi, Hassan and Mangal but eventual the Scots saw it home to claim a place in the final against Ireland tomorrow, who go unbeaten after beating the Netherlands by 39 runs.
The Scots are delighted and rightly so. They made hard work of it as usual and staggered over the line.
The man of the match has been awarded to Fraser Watts for his patient opening innings of 46 of 98 balls on a bowler-friendly track.
The Scots are now celebrating with a pint and singing O' Flower of Scotland at top volume in the dressing room, while for Afghanistan, their World Cricket League dream is over.

I will be there bringing you ball-by-ball commentary live from the ground, but for now it's Callum Stewart signing off from a sunny Rotterdam. Good afternoon.
goes for the swipe on the off-side and carves the ball over point, third man's too fine and they run back for two. Scotland are in the final - scores are level
Goudie in at number ten, just two needed to make the final
oh my days! Drummond looks to go over the top to win the game and gets a thin edge through to the keeper. Afghanistan are delirious
drives hard at cover who fields on the bounce
cut away in front of point and they take two, almost there
Looks like Shapoor Zadran will come back on, much to the crowds delight, to try and keep the dream alive
Although Scotland need five to win, four runs will be enough to see them in to the final, as a tie would be enough because they are ahead of Afghanistan on nett run rate
angled away to gully
fuller ball dug away to midwicket
quick and full, beats Drummond but also the leg-stump and that's a wide. What Afghanistan would have done to not concede 19 wides in this game
Nervy time coming up
short and with pace, Iqbal watches well and leaves
prods at the drive and a single down to third man
Surely not...Drummond in for Scotland. Just 7 runs needed
shorter ball and Parker doesn't commit to the shot, popping the ball up in the air short of Mangal in the covers who takes the catch diving forward
blocked to mid wicket
Hamid Hassan to try and make miracles happen for Afghanistan
keeps low, blocked back to the bowler
too full and flicked through midwicket for a single
leading edge runs away to cover
Parker walks out to partner Iqbal to try and finish things off for Scotland
8 runs needed
the ball straightens up and Lockhart misses with the leg side shot. A big appeal and the umpire raises the finger
good pace beats the bat outside off
cut away through the covers, it's a big boundary and the outfields slow so they pick up three
down the leg-side
single down to long-on
