14.4 to N Pooran, taken at deep midwicket! Pooran looks for the fourth six in a row, but perishes. Stone perhaps went for the yorker, but ended up bowling a low, dipping full toss on the stumps. Pooran has his front leg out of the way to smother this, but this time the longer boundary comes into play, as Shanaka moves to his left to bag this just short of the boundary. 152/3 17.5 to T Banton, that was muscled... but right to the man at deep midwicket! I thought the ball would almost break into two there. Just three runs off the first four balls of the over, and Banton departs in looking for a big hit. On a short of a length around sixth stump from Stone, and Banton went swat-pulling hard at it. But the boundary at midwicket was the bigger one, and he ended up giving a catch to the fielder there. 170/4

1.1 to MDKJ Perera, gone! Chameera strikes first ball! The leg stump comes off in a flash. He lands it on the shorter side of a length around middle, and the ball seams away to finish around off. Perera goes punching at it, but with no foot movement, with his front foot around leg. The ball takes the bottom edge, and shakes the stumps up. 5/1

19.2 to R Shepherd, finds deep-backward square leg! That was sent flying high into the sky, but it seemed to have come off the higher side of the bat. Naib bowled short again, and around sixth stump. Shepherd cleared his front leg and went pulling at it, but mistimed it with the ball getting big on him. 186/5 19.4 to KA Pollard, well taken by short third! Dunk had to keep his eyes on the ball, which was ballooned up, even as he moved a few steps across to his right. Naib banged it short again, and got some good bounce around sixth stump. Pollard went half-slashing-half-swatting, and only managed to send the ball soaring off the top half of the bat. 187/6 19.5 to AS Joseph, Naib on a hat-trick! Joseph is taken at long leg! Joseph comes out swinging and perishes first ball. Naib bowls with a scrambled seam, and yet again, goes short. The ball jumps off the surface on leg stump, and with Joseph getting his front leg out of the way and getting cramped for room, goes for the pull. 187/7

16.1 to Sikandar Raza, bowled him! Lovely yorker! Farooqi launches this from around the wicket, and it lands bang at the base of the leg stump. Raza's front leg is out of the way, and even as he looks to jam his bat down at this pacy delivery, he ends up missing and getting bowled. Great delivery in a potentially tight situation. 137/4 16.2 to MD Shanaka, Farooqi on a hat-trick! This time it is the off stump which is flattened with a yorker! Maybe the middle stump next ball?! Shanaka looks at the replay while walking back, and sees a yorker swinging to arrive at the toe of the off stump. Too full and too quick for Shanaka, who plays with a big gap between bat and pad, driving from outside off. 137/5

5.6 to BR Dunk, bowled him! Joseph fires this length ball at 146kph, and angles this across on middle. The seam of the ball was facing the slips, and Dunk, in looking to half-swipe it away, misses the ball while getting beaten on the inside edge by the pace on the ball. Joseph hits the top of off. 54/1 17.5 to Gulbadin Naib, taken at deep midwicket! Good little leap by Waseem there, as he took it with a reverse cup. Joseph bowled on a length, and outside off. Naib went heaving at it across the line, and although the sound off the bat indicated that the ball was travelling far, it had actually come off the inside half of the bat. So DC unravelling here, as MIE inch closer to a win. 150/6

13.4 to B McMullen, stumped by Pooran! McMullen never really got going in this innings, and falls to Salamkheil eventually after he nearly had him much earlier. Salamkheil slowed it down considerably, and even tossed it up. The ball dipped on a length on the stumps, and turned away sharply to beat a charging McMullen, who had also given himself some room. He missed it eventually, and Pooran had plenty of time to whip the bails off (with his gloves behind the stumps this time!). 115/2

15.4 to SD Hope, there was an "arrghhhh" from Hope the moment the ball left the bat, and you could guess why! Ghazanfar got this to angle in on a length around middle and leg, before getting the ball to turn away. It was also bowled slower, and the length was shorter than usual to facilitate a slog sweep. Hope ended up hitting it right into long-on's hands, as the fielder took it low. 135/3 |
