Rawalpindi, Nov 4: The Asia Cricket Council (ACC) has got its 50 per
cent share from the earnings of last month's International Cricket
Council (ICC) knockout tournament in Kenya.
An ACC official said six million dollars were deposited in the kitty
of the council earlier this week.
He said the ACC would control the finances and allocate funds for the
development of cricket. "There will not be a committee like the ICC
development committee at whose disposal is huge money. But the ACC
will decide where, how and when money has to be spent on the
development of infrastructure facilities."
The ACC has already appointed former Sri Lanka captain Duleep Mendis
as its development officer who submits proposals to the ACC which
approves them and then releases funds for their implementation.
The ACC's first official program will be the holding of an umpiring
seminar in Pakistan in February next year.
