Tony Marshall was re-elected unopposed last night as president of the
Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
There was the anticipated last-minute nomination from the floor of a
packed Sherbourne Centre but it quickly fizzled out when outgoing
treasurer Vernon Williams declined to contest the leadership.
Marshalls stewardship of the BCA over the past year came under close
scrutiny ahead of the AGM with opponents saying that he concentrated
too heavily on infrastructural issues and less on cricket development.
In his favour was the fact that he was able to report an operating
profit of $457,754 after a loss the previous year.
