Despite playing on the bouncy WACA wicket, the Queensland Bulls selectors have decided not to add a paceman to their squad and named an unchanged team for this Sunday's Mercantile Mutual Cup final against the Western Warriors.
The red-hot Bulls, who are also virtually assured a spot in Pura Milk Cup final, qualified for Sunday's one-day decider after defeating the NSW Blues by three wickets in their semifinal at Allan Border Field on Sunday, while the Warriors rallied to defeat the Southern Redbacks by 29 runs on Saturday at the WACA.
Both teams finished level on eight points in the preliminary competition but the Warriors finished above the Bulls by virtue of winning the match between the two sides by four wickets at The Gabba in November.
Matthew Hayden, now with the Australian squad in New Zealand, made 98 and Stuart Law scored 62 as the Bulls reached 8-260. But with Adam Gilchrist replying with 115 in 104 balls, the Warriors got home with 8.3 overs to spare.
The Final is a repeat of the 1996/97 clash between the two sides, which WA won.
The match umpires have also been named, with Daryl Harper and Darrell Hair the men in the middle, Terry Prue will act as third umpire and Ric Evans the match referee.
Queensland Bulls: Jimmy Maher, Martin Love, Stuart Law (c), Clinton Perren, Geoff Foley, Lee Carseldine, Scott Prestwidge, Wade Seccombe, Michael Kasprowicz, Adam Dale, Andy Bichel, Dale Turner.
