Craig White is all set to make his home debut in the fourth match
against the West Indies at Headingley thereby becoming the fourth
Yorkshire player in the current English team.
While he is ready to play his 11th Test, his captain Hussain has said
that White is already in their plans for the winter tour.``Craig has a
lot to offer to the team, especially when you're a captain,''
explained Hussain. ``One thing that is very impressive is obviously
his extra pace. Generally in English cricket when you get down to a
70-overs old ball you are scratching your head a little bit as
captain, so it's nice to have Craig to come on then and bowl at 90
miles an hour.''
Incidenatlly White has never been on a tour except for the World Cup
tournament held in India and Pakistan four years ago. White suffered a
blackout near his Scarborough home some 10 weeks ago which has changed
his outlook, he claims.``In retrospect, it was probably the best thing
that ever happened to me because it changed my whole attitude to
life,'' said White. ``When you've had a life-threatening experience
like that you re-evaluate everything", he said.
He is likely to bat at No 8 in the match as England is likely to
include all its seven batsmen. West Indies meanwhile, could include
Mclean and Gayle in place of Sarwan and the injured Rose.
