The former ICC President Jagmohan Dalmiya is being forced to
wage a tough battle to see that his panel of candidates get
through in the elections to the various posts of the
office-bearers at the Cricket Association of Bengal. The
election takes place during the Annual General Meeting of
the Association on Saturday.
The opposition panel has put up candidates against the sitting candidates in most of the posts, except for the post of the
President where Dalmiya is contesting. The main leader of the opposition group Samar Paul said on Thursday, "We have a very
bright chance of getting at least a couple of our candidates
elected. So why should we step down." The AGM of the CAB could
well turn out to be one of the stormiest seen in recent years.
