Scott Evans, Andew Swan Shkawat Ali and Neisha Pratt all scored centuries while Waqar Dawood, Suresh and Kamani claimed five wickets apiece in the latest round of matches.
2006-07 HKCA Saturday League
There was a thrilling match played at the Po Kong Village Road Number 2 ground where Nomads beat Kai Tak by four wickets. Kai Tak batted first an posted 272-6 from their 35 overs with Steve Campbell hitting 84 while Malcolm Brown scored 68 and Tiku Patidar and Brett Morely both hit forties. Liam Fitzpatrick grabbed three wickets for Nomads. Nomad's reply was lead by Andrew Swan who blasted an unbeaten 136 while receiving good support from Michael Jamieson who scored 63 while Chris O'Sullivan hit 32. Dave Belcastro claimed three wickets for Kai Tak. The match finished in sensational fashion with Swan smashing 32 runs off the final over to win the match for Nomads.
Things weren't nearly as exciting on the number one ground where LSW Warriors continued their undefeated run in the 2006-07 season with a 95-run victory over Mainlanders. Azhar Illahi top scored with 71 in LSW Warriors total of 231-7 from their 35 overs, with Tabrak Dar and Ilyas Gul scoring 48 and 33 not out respectively. In reply, Mainlanders were dismissed for 136 with Asif scoring an unbeaten 33, while Jawaid Iqbal adding another three scalps to his season's tally.
Crusaders and Tartars played out a derby match at Kowloon Cricket Club to determine which team could boast bragging rights at the club this season. It was Crusaders that prevailed in the end in a relatively low scoring affair. Tartars batted first but could only muster a total of 138, with Manoj Cheruparambil and Shamal Perera claiming three wickets apiece. In reply, Crusaders eased to a six-wicket victory with Rob Taylor scoring an unbeaten 34, while Afzaal Haider grabbed four wickets for Tartars.
Another derby match was played at Hong Kong Cricket Club where Gap Ramblers took on Witherers. Gap Rmablers batted first and they were dismissed for 161 with Phil Pemberton and Richard Norris grabbing three wickets each. Pemberton then smacked an unbeaten 92 as Witherers eased to a victory by seven wickets.
At Mission Road, CCC faced Laguna Gully. CCC took first use of the wicket and they posted a respectable score of 219-8 from their 35 overs, with Scott Evans hitting 109 while Anand Ramasswamy collected four wickets for Laguna Gully. In reply Virendra Dhir hit an unbeaten 73 and Vikram Thareja scored 33 as Laguna Gully coasted to a five-wicket victory.
Police enjoyed another success when they beat the Hong Kong Under-19s by five wickets at the Police Training College. The HK Under-19s batted first and posted a total of 169-8 from their 35 overs, with Irfan Ahmed hitting 34. In reply, Police raced to 170-5 with Liaquat scoring 67 while Muntz finished unbetan on 52. Nadeem Ahmed claimed three wickets for the HK Under-19s.

There was a top of the table clash at Hong Kong Club where Optimists faced Wanderers. A close match was expected but that hardly materialised with the match finished before half distance. Wanderers batted first but they were routed for just 113 from 28 overs, with Jeremy Glaros and Chris Williams claiming three scalps each. Mark Fuzes then hit a quick-fire half-century as Optimists raced to victory in just 18 overs to cement their position at the top of the Sunday League points table.
Any chance for Little Sai Wan to make up ground on Optimists were blown away as they were beaten by 55 runs by Templars at Mission Road. Templars found some batting form as they posted 295-5 from 49 overs with Shkawat Ali hitting an undefeated 136. He received good support from Amjad Mahmood who hit 57 and Rahul Sharma who scored 45. In reply, LSW were dismissed for 240 in 48.3 overs. Tabarak Dar top scored with 53 while Azhar Illahi, Jawaid Iqbal, Irfan Ahmed and Zain Abbas all making useful contributions. For Templars, Waqar Darwood picked up five wickets while Amjad Mahmood claimed three.
Millennium CC enjoyed another victory as they beat Sri Lanka Club by 146 runs at Po Kong Village Road. Millennium smashed 307 runs from just 44 overs with Waseem Imtiaz hitting 64, Liaquat 56 and Ather Ali 35, while Shiraz Khan finished on 58 not out. For Sri Lanka Club, Suresh claimed five wickets while Nilantha grabbed four wickets for himself. In reply, Sri Lanka Club could only manage 161 from 45 overs. Top scorer was Shabbir who hit 38 while Suresh scored 30. For Millennium, Don Mohammed, Zar Khan and Mohammed Javed all claimed three wickets.

Two matches were played in the HKCA Women's Cricket League over the weekend.
On Saturday, Lamma played KCC Maidens at Siu Sai Wan. Lamma batted first and posted 175-8 from their 35 overs, on the back of yet another century from Neisha Pratt who finished unbeaten on 197 not out. O Rae and Jessica Park claimed three wickets each for the KCC Maidens. In reply, Reneee Montogmery scored 53 but three wickets each to Sam McIlwraith and Penny Hunter kept KCC restricted to 126-9.
The Sunday match was played at Po Kong Village Road where Sri Lanka Club beat Cavaliers in a low scoring match. Sri Lanka Club scored 74-7 when they batted, with Mariko Hill claiming three wickets. In reply, Cavaliers were dismissed for just 57 with Kamani claiming five wickets.
