Kent Captain, David Fulton, will miss the early part of the season following a freak accident during net practice on the evening of Friday 11 April. Fulton was hit on the head by a rising ball which penetrated his helmet and damaged his right eye. An operation to repair the damage took place on Saturday morning and Fulton is now recovering.
Commenting, Ian Brayshaw, Kent's Director of Cricket said:
"We are not sure how long David will be out. He is doing well but needs a period of rehabilitation following his operation. We all wish him a speedy recovery and will do all we can to get him back playing as soon as possible. The Club has good batting back-up in David's absence. Greg Blewett arrives this morning and Michael Carberry has already shown excellent pre-season form. Mark Ealham will deputise as Captain until David's return."
