Fantasy XI suggestions for the CPL game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs

Guyana Amazon Warriors v Jamaica Tallawahs, Port of Spain

NOTE: We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates, so do keep an eye on team news at the toss before making your final picks.
Our XI: 1 Brandon King, 2 Glenn Phillips, 3 Shimron Hetmyer, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Nicholas Pooran, 6 Andre Russell 7 Asif Ali, 8 Carlos Brathwaite, 9 Keemo Paul, 10 Mujeeb Ur Rahman, 11 Imran Tahir
Captain: Imran Tahir
Imran Tahir has time and again proved why he's one of the best in the format. His skills were on display during the match against St Lucia Zouks, when he picked up 3 for 22. Expect the veteran legspinner to get those much-needed breakthroughs for his team and yours.
Vice-captain: Nicholas Pooran
Pooran scored 68 off 49 balls against Zouks after a slow start to the tournament. Now that he seems to have found his rhythm, expect him to go big more often than not.
Hot Picks
Andre Russell: The T20 giant hit form the last time these two teams met, scoring 52 off 37 balls on a tricky surface. He did not find much support from his team-mates and Tallawahs eventually fell short of the 118-run target, with Warriors defending the lowest total in CPL history. Russell - who can turn games around from any point almost single-handedly - will be keen for some payback.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman: The Afghanistan mystery spinner was too much to handle for Warriors during their previous encounter. He mixed up his pace to dismantle the top order, even sending the in-form Shimron Hetmyer back for a duck. He has six wickets from three games so far and he's a must-have in your team.
Shimron Hetmyer: Hetmyer opened the tournament with unbeaten 63 from 44 against a strong Trinbago attack and 71 against Patriots. Although he's followed it up with two low scores, you might not want to leave out the season's highest run-getter - as of Sunday, at least.
Value Picks
Glenn Phillips: Phillips was among the top-five run-getters last season, and this year he has started with impressive scores of 44 off 29 against Zouks and 58 off 42 against Trinbago. Yes, a seven-ball duck followed, but he has shown more signs of being in form than out of it. Pick him in your side and hope to cash in.
Asif Ali: The Tallawahs middle-order batsman has proved he can deliver in crunch situations, scoring an unbeaten 47, including a couple of 19th-over fours to steer his side to victory in their first game.
Point to note
  • The teams' last encounter was a low-scorer. As has been the case in the tournament so far, expect spinners to do well but don't leave out the big-hitters from both sides.
