On starting with a win
It's great to start with a win. To contribute was great. I think it was a reasonable wicket, but 170 was definitely below par - England were confident when we had restricted India to 170. Tracking a total of 170 required someone to bat through, but unfortunately I didn't do that. But I tried to go about it my way.

On whether he would ever get back in the side
I didn't give it much thought. I was disappointed with the way things went in Bangladesh, and I felt I needed to work on some aspects and I did that. I've worked hard in county cricket. County cricket is a great training ground - more than that - for international cricket. Our first class system is pretty good.

On England's chances
There's plenty of confidence. We are confident in our own abilities to do well in the competition. We've come and played well and won well. But it's just set up the series. Hopefully I can put together some scores in the next few games. But India will be tough competition.

On today's match
We didn't play good cricket - we did not put runs on the board. It was a good wicket. We got off to a good start, but then lost too many wickets. The innings never went on, and that's something we have to look to.

Any changes for the next game on Friday?
We will have to wait and see. It's too early to say.
