Lahore, Nov 13: The ICC will release another $44 million to the Asian
Cricket Council (ACC) over the next seven years for the development of
the game in Asia.
Ehsan Mani, Pakistan's representative in the ICC and chairman of ICC's
finance committee, told Dawn that the amount would be ACC share from
the next three ICC knockout tournaments.
Mani said the ICC will make $120 million through television rights
from the next three tournaments and only $20 million was the estimated
cost of organizing the tournaments. The first edition of the mini-
World Cup was staged in Bangladesh in 1998 while the second was held
in Kenya last month.
"As per our (ICC) commitment with the ACC, half of the profits would
go to Asia for development," he said.
Mani said the venues of the next three tournaments would be decided in
the ICC director's meeting in Melbourne, Australia, in February next.
