Former Mumbai cricket administrator AR Kudrolli died of a massive heart attack in Jeddah on Friday. He was 70. A diabetic patient, the veteran administrator was on his way to Mecca on Haj pilgrimage. He was popular among both the players and officials in the Mumbai Cricket Association and was closely associated with Islam Gymkhana.
A lawyer by profession, he was involved in the game in Mumbai and played an important part in encouraging youngters in the city and helped them to play for Karnataka Sports Association in their early years. Former Test and Mumbai players expressed their grief over his demise. His body will be cremated in Mecca.
