Hong Kong scraped home by 1 wicket against Malaysia today at the Bhaktapur Ground near Kathmandu, Nepal. Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat. Hong Kong's bowlers struck regularly and bowled tightly to dismiss Malaysia for 117 but Hong Kong's opening batsmen again played injudiciously, fell early and it was left to Niaz Ali (25) and Nizakat Khan (31) to patiently resurrect the innings before they too fell to poor shot making when within sight of victory.
The rest of Hong Kong's batsmen struggled against Malaysia's spin attack and outstanding fielding and it was left to Shivam Hemnani (12) to get Hong Kong across the line in the 38th over.
This was not a convincing performance but Hong Kong are well placed in Pool A,after a narrow and hard fought win yesterday against Oman in their first pool game , and now face Thailand on 29 November again to be played at Bhaktapur.
