Karachi, March 3: Larkana were poised for an innings victory
over Sibi on the second day of the Patron's Trophy match at the
Police Ground in Larkana on Friday.
According to details made available here, Larkana scored a
massive 606 for four declared in their first innings after
resuming at the overnight score of 166 for one. The home team
then reduced Sibi to 63 for five in their second innings with
Mazhar Ali snapping four for 27. Sibi, who made 248 in their
first knock, need another 295 to avoid another humiliating
defeat.
The highlights of the Larkana's innings was a second wicket
partnership of 228 between Mujahid Ali and Himat Raza. Mujahid,
who resumed at 106, contributed 203 with 28 fours and one six
while Himat stroked 16 fours in making 156.
Khadim Hussain Shah then further tormented Sibi's bowlers with an
unconquered 118 which included 15 fours. Skipper Nasrullah Memon
carried his overnight score of 36 to 75. His knock was laced with
eight boundaries.
