Red hot phone lines at the County Ground

Somerset supporters were queueing up at the office at the County Ground this morning to take advantage of the discounted membership prices which expire at the end of the day today.

Membership secretary Joanne Betsworth told me "The phone lines are red hot this morning with people who are anxious to take advantage of the reduced membership prices."

All of the members of staff in the office were rushed off their feet in an effort to deal with the flood of personal callers and telephone applications that were being received.

Already record numbers of new members for this time of year have joined. From a membership perspective it looks like being a highly successful year for the club, which in turn means that revenue is coming into the club coffers at this early stage in the season.

Jo Betsworth concluded, "We have been really busy this week and we are really really pleased with the way that things are going."
