Islamabad, March 2: Pakistan's lanky pace bowler Shabbir Ahmed will be
available to play for Pakistan in the next few weeks. Former Test cricketer
Ehtesham-uddin, who is a member National Selection Committee and camp
commandant of the on-going PCB practice camp at KRL Stadium, stated this on
Thursday.
Ehtesham said that the pacer has gained good rhythm and speed during the
practice. It may be added here that PCB had to withdraw the name of Shabbir
Ahmed from the Australian-bound team in October last year over throwing
allegations.
There are no flaws in Shabbir action," he commented. The practice camp will help
Shabbir get back into shape, he added. The basic idea is to keep the probable in
good practice and fitness. With the inclusion of wrist spinner Danish Kaneria, the
number of leg spinners in the camp has increased to three. Mushtaq Ahmed and
Shafiq Ahmed of WAPDA, who played the three-dayer against the Sri Lankans
called to the camp.
