Wanstead duly collected maximum points from their home game with Chelmsford bowling them out for 144 with only Tim Jones (65) showing any resistance and then Jon Chambers (70) and Adnam Akram (58*) guided Wanstead home by nine wickets.
Hadleigh & Thundersley and Saffron Walden are both keeping in touch in case Wanstead falter in the run in. Richard Small with 104 ensured that Shenfield set Hadleigh a challenging target but with Devang Ghandi contributing 130 Hadleigh won by five wickets.
Giles Ecclestone, with an undefeated 126, guided Saffron Walden to a six wicket win over Billericay having first claimed four wickets including a hat trick as Billericay were restricted to 238-9 dec.
In the other two matches both Gidea Park and Loughton set targets that Hainault and Fives obviously felt too testing and both matches petered out into draws.
