Hampshire will give extensive treatment to both captain Robin Smith (hamstring) and in-form opening batsman Giles White (groin strain), before deciding on their team to meet Middlesex in the quarter final of the National Westminster Bank Trophy at Lord's on Tuesday (25th July).
Both Smith and White received their injuries whilst batting in their Norwich Union National Cricket League clash at Portsmouth on Sunday and neither took the field for the Middlesex innings.
Hampshire are keeping their options open by selecting the eleven that played in the match on Sunday and adding Alan Mullally, who returns from his England duties, plus batsmen Derek Kenway and Lawrence Prittipaul. If Smith does not make the team, vice-captain Shaun Udal will take the reigns for the day.
Both Smith and White are optimistic about playing in this vital match, a match that would play a vital part of continuing Hampshire's season or killing it off.
