Maldivian President Abdul Gayoom has invited Sri Lanka's
cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya and his bride Sumudu, to spend their
honeymoon in Male.
Aussie team of the year
Australia, with 94 points, ended as the CEAT International
cricket team of the year and 1997/ 98 season. The CEAT rankings
are based on both Tests and one day internationals.
Australia has gained a total of 60 points for Tests and 34 points
in one day internationals. In the second place is South Africa,
with 74 points, followed by last season's champions Pakistan (72
points), Sri Lanka (64), India (58), New Zealand (45), West
Indies (44), England (43) and Zimbabwe (20).
Despite being placed fourth in the final standings, Sri Lanka
maintained their position as the one day World champions. They
have gained the highest points in one day internationals (50),
ahead of South Africa (49) and India (42). But Sri Lanka has
gained only 14 points in Tests. These rankings were issued to
