Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan for a two-Test series in October, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board. Reuters reported that the tour was scheduled after Bangladesh agreed to postpone their home series against Sri Lanka to next year.
Shaharyar Khan, the chairman of the PCB, said: "They had said they could not play the Tests because they were to tour Bangladesh in October and November this year. But now they are coming. Bangladesh have agreed to host them next year in February."
The series will begin after Sri Lanka play Pakistan and Zimbabwe in a one-day tournament. The Test series will begin in the second half of October. The last time Sri Lanka and Pakistan played a Test, more than two years ago, Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas ran through the Pakistan batsmen, while Kumar Sangakkara scored a big double-century to take his team to victory.
