October 27, 2008 (floodlit). Trinidad & Tobago won by five wickets. Toss: Middlesex.
Neil Carter, on loan from Warwickshire, had an unhappy week against short-pitched fast bowling,
and the Middlesex innings never got off the ground against Trinidad's three slow bowlers, starting
with Samuel Badree's Kumble-esque top-spinners. Middlesex's seamers bowled line and length
and were despatched by Dwayne Bravo's younger brother Darren and by Ramdin, who got under
the ball and lofted it in a straightish arc with strong wrists to finish with 41 off 28 balls. Trinidad,
when they had to accelerate, were helped by Middlesex dropping three catches in two overs.
Trinidad received $280,000, Middlesex $100,000.
Man of the Match: R. Rampaul.
