The franchise with the lowest ratio was Gujarat Lions, who spent 1.77 times the base price to buy 19 players. The other new franchise, Rising Pune Supergiants, was the only other to have bought players at an average of less than twice the base price (1.98). Overall, the ratio of actual price to base price was 2.89 - Rs 136 crore was spent, while the sum of bases prices was Rs 47 crore. For uncapped players the ratio was 6.27, and it was 2.36 for the capped ones.
14 Players bought by Daredevils in the auction, the most among the six older franchises. Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians bought the least - seven players each. Daredevils are also the only franchise to contract 27 players, which is the upper limit for the squad. Apart from them, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore were the only other franchises to fill their quota of overseas players to the upper limit - nine.
45 Number of times the base price which Supergiants paid for
M Ashwin - his base was Rs 10 lakh and he was bought at Rs 4.5 crore. This is the highest ratio among all the buys in the auction. Deepak Hooda (42) and Karun Nair (40) were the others who got 40 or more times their base price. There were 52 players bought at the base price itself. Among overseas players, Chris Morris and Carlos Brathwaite had the highest ratio of sold price to base price (14 each).
57000000 Rupees (5.7 crore) spent by Knight Riders at the auction, the least by any franchise. At least Rs 10 crore were spent by each of the other franchises. Daredevils spent the most (Rs 31 crore), followed by Supergiants (Rs 21.8 crore) and Sunrisers (Rs 21.75 crore).
85000000 Rupees (8.5 crore) which Daredevils paid for
Pawan Negi, making him easily the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history. He was the second-most expensive buy in the auction after Shane Watson, who went for Rs 9.5 crore to Royal Challengers. Yuvraj Singh, who had got Rs 14 crore and Rs 16 crore in the last two auctions, was sold for Rs 7 crore, which was the joint third-highest along with Morris this time.

Adam Zampa was an uncapped player till a day before the auction, but he made his international debut in the ODI
in Wellington on the morning of auction.
5 Players from the current India Under-19 squad who were bought in the auction: Ishan Kishan (Gujarat Lions), Mahipal Lomror (Daredevils), Rishabh Pant (Daredevils), Khaleel Ahmed (Daredevils) and Armaan Jaffar (Kings XI Punjab). Two other players, Sarfaraz Khan and Ricky Bhui, were already retained before the auction by Royal Challengers and Sunrisers respectively.
12 Number of players who attracted prices of Rs 4 crore or more - five of them were bought by Daredevils, three by Sunrisers, two by Supergiants, and one each by Kings XI and Royal Challengers. Four of them were uncapped players. Knight Riders did not buy any player for more than Rs 1.6 crore - Jaydev Unadkat, who went at that price, was their most expensive player in the auction.
