Sydney Grade: Fairfield news, Rounds Eight and Nine

In round eight all grades won except First grade against Hawesbury

Round 8
Fairfield Liverpool v Hawkesbury
In round eight all grades won except First grade against Hawesbury. In First grade Hawkesbury batted first and scored 197 with Fairfield Liverpool scoring 7 for 153 off their 50 overs. Second Grade were 5 for 189 when they passed hawesbury's score of 9 for 186. Third grade batted first and scored 180 then bowled Hawkesbury out for 160. Fourth Grade scored 2 for 160 and bowled Hawkesbury out for 96. Fifth grade bowled Hakesbury out for 104 after batting first and scoring 117.
The Advance Leader Player of the round for round 8 against Hawkesbury was Rob Stuart who scored 89 and took 4 for 9 in fourth Grades win.
Round 9
Fairfield Liverpool v Mosman
First Grade
Saturday & Sunday 8th & 9th January
Fairfield Liverpool First Grade won on the first innings against Mosman at Rosedale Oval. Mosman were bowled out for 141 on the first day and in reply at stumps Fairfield Liverpool were 6 for 125 still needing 17 runs for victory. On Sunday Fairfield Liverpool declared at 6 for 147 and Mosman then declared 8 for 148 in their second innings leaving Fairfield Liverpool 46 overs to score 142 for outright victory. Fairfield Liverpool were in trouble at 9 for 87 with 15 overs remaining but an unbeaten 10th wicket partnership of 30 runs between Ben Sawyer 16 and John Boulous 13 saved an outright loss. Best of the bowlers in the first innings was Pat Richards 4 for 30 and Anthony Clark 3 for 14 with David Kelley 36 and Grant Lambert 25 the best of the batsmen. In the second innings Anthony Clark took 4 for 41 and Grant Lambert 3 for 50 and Grant also top scored with 27 with Nadeem Shahid 21the next best.
Second Grade
Second Grade lost after they were bowled out for 192. In reply Mosman were 4 for 192 at Alan Border Oval. John Mahony 46 not out and Jason Coleman 44 were the best of the batsmen with the best of the bowlers Jason Coleman 2 for 48 and Shaun Perris 1 for 11
Third Grade
Third Grade lost to Mosman after they were bowled out for 178. Mosman in reply were 8 for 179 when they passed Fairfield Liverpool's score. Captain Richard Gerdes 88 and Matt Ballantine 20 were the best of the batsmen. Billy York 3 for 20 and Mick Collins 2 for 23 bowled well.
Fourth Grade
Fourth Grade won their 3rd game of the season beating Mosman after they scored 8 for 205 chasing 204 for victory. Johnathon Baker 40 and Chris Oliver 37 were the best of the Batsmen. Ben McCluer 3 for 30 and Chris Oliver 3 for 54 were the best of the bowlers.
Fifth Grade
Fifth Grade 8 for 155 beat Mosman who were bowled out for 149. Fairfield Liverpool were in trouble early but a good innings by Warwick Tremain of 72 not out and Peter Bastow 17 not out won the game. Best of the bowlers was Jason Gynn 3 for 35 and Terry Kennedy 2 foe 21.
