St. John's, Antigua - The West Indies cricket team is being given a
US$50 000 incentive to win the forthcoming Cable & Wireless One-Day
International series.
The bonus will be shared among the players if they triumph over
Pakistan and Zimbabwe in the triangular competition which starts this
weekend at Sabina Park in Jamaica.
The incentive is being jointly offered by the team's sponsor, Cable &
Wireless, and the West Indies Cricket Board in the hope that it will
spur Jimmy Adams and his men to continue their winning form.
On Tuesday, they completed a 2-0 Test series victory over the
Zimbabweans who are on their first-ever tour to the Caribbean.
West Indies will meet Zimbabwe in the first two games of the
triangular series tomorrow and Sunday at Sabina Park.
The series moves to Antigua for Game 3 on April 5 between Zimbabwe and
Pakistan.
West Indies were in the nets yesterday fine-tuning their preparation
for tomorrow's match, while the Zimbabweans took two days off.
Zimbabwe have planned an intense session today.
The Pakistanis are due to arrive in the Caribbean Sunday.
