Karachi, Dec 16: Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Thursday said he had
complete faith in the Australian-bound team and urged the selectors
not to change it.
Akram said from Lahore that he had told the same to Lt-Gen Tauqir Zia,
chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc committee.
"I told the PCB chief that the batsmen selected for the second half of
the Australian tour are the same who played in the Test series," he
said while reacting on the possible inclusion of Aamir Sohail.
wasim said Aamir Sohail was always available for selection adding that
he can be considered for selection in the home Test series against Sri
Lanka.
"I don't think there is any urgency to include Aamir Sohail because
this is the team which has been playing as a unit in one-day
internationals for the last 12 months," he remarked.
Wasim, briefing his deliberations with Lt-Gen Tauqir Zia, said the new
PCB chief told him that he was here for two years and will do
everything to assist the team and its players.
