Karachi, Feb 6: Pakistan captain Wasim Akram returned on Sunday and immediately made himself available for the series against Sri Lanka.
"I am fit and ready to face Sri Lanka," he said from Lahore.
Akram is 17 wickets short of becoming the fourth bowling in Test history to capture 400 wickets. He already has 410 wickets in one-day cricket. However, Akram refused to discuss the pathetic performance of his team in Australia. He said: "I will talk to the press on Monday." His arrival coincided with a meeting of seven cricketers along with coach Intikhab Alam with the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) at the headquarters in Lahore.
Those who attended the meeting included Ijaz Ahmad, Saqlain Mushtaq, Saeed Anwar, Yousuf Youhana, Waqar Younis, Abdur Razzaq and Shoaib Malik.
