The West Indies Cricket Board is to leave match-fixing allegations against Brian Lara in the hands of the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Unit.
President Pat Rousseau said the CBI report that accused the West Indies batsman of accepting $40,000 from Indian bookmaker MK Gupta to 'underperform' in matches during 1994, was with Sir Paul Condon's specialist unit and its contents would be investigated by them.
``We do not propose to take any action on this report and will leave it to the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Unit to investigate the matter,'' he said.
Lara denied the allegations and Rousseau said he supported Lara and former vice captain Gus Logie, who the report claimed was also approached.
``We deny any involvement by Logie and Lara with Gupta,'' Rousseau said.
``Furthermore, Logie and Lara deny that there were any approaches to them by gamblers at any time during their visits to India.''
``Gupta by admission is a gambler and bookmaker, but seems to have trouble remembering detail,'' Rousseau said in the statement.
