Somerset 138 for 2 (Rew 53*) beat Middlesex 135 (Meredith 4-27) by eight wickets
Riley Meredith ran through Middlesex's batting line-up for the second time this season at Lord's, as Somerset won by eight wickets to book their place in the knockout stages of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
Meredith took 4 for 12 in Somerset's T20 Blast win at Lord's back in June and was Middlesex's chief tormentor again with 4 for 27, as the hosts were bundled out for 135 with 63 balls unused. It was only the second time he had taken four or more wickets in List A cricket.

A half-century from Lauren Winfield-Hill took Oval Invincibles to a crucial win against London Spirit in front of 14,721 fans in The Hundred at The Kia Oval.
Chasing 120, Invincibles captain Winfield-Hill made 61 from 40 balls - her first half-century this season - and combined effectively with Marizanne Kapp to make light work of a chase that could have been far more taxing.

Tahlia McGrath's 22-ball 51* ensured Australia A made short work of India A's modest total of 120 in the third and final T20 to complete a 3-0 series whitewash. Grace Parsons, Maitlan Brown and Nicola Hancock took two wickets apiece after Tayla Vlaeminck's first-over strike to set up Australia A's comfortable win.
Vlaeminck, who was benched in the second T20, made instant impact on her return to the Australia A side. The 25-year-old fast bowler came away with remarkable figures of 4-0-6-1. She bowled Shubha Satheesh for a duck second ball of the match.

A Test that seemed destined for a draw is set for a thrilling final day, weather-permitting, after South Africa grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck on the fourth evening. Despite having only two hours of play on Saturday, South Africa took a 124-run first-innings lead after they bowled West Indies out for 233 and then scored 30 runs in five overs to put themselves in a position to push for a win.
Rain has affected every day of this Test so far. It seemed as if play wouldn't get underway today as more than 50mm of rain in some areas of the island had raised a yellow-level alert. But, after a six hour delay, play did start at Queen's Park Oval and South Africa took control. They forced a West Indian collapse of 6 for 60 in 16.1 overs to ensure they were batting again by the end of the day.

Moeen Ali and Ben Duckett made classy half-centuries as Birmingham Phoenix claimed a five-wicket win at Sophia Gardens to end Welsh Fire's hopes of reaching The Hundred Eliminator and push themselves up to third in the table.
Chasing 147 for victory, the two England left-handers shared an opening stand of 114 in 73 deliveries, Moeen hitting eight fours and a six in his 46-ball 60, his highest ever score in The Hundred, before top-edging Matt Henry to David Payne.

Kieron Pollard produced a sensational display of hitting to inspire Southern Brave to a thrilling two-wicket win over Trent Rockets at Utilita Bowl and move his side level on points with Oval Invincibles at the top of the table.
Pollard had struggled his way to 6 from 14 balls in a contest which appeared to be slipping away from the hosts before he dispatched Rashid Khan for five consecutive sixes in one set.

An inspired bowling performance by Birmingham Phoenix flipped the formbook against Welsh Fire to keep the Phoenix squarely in the mix as The Hundred reaches the business end.
Marshalling her attack superbly to defend a modest 121, Phoenix skipper Ellyse Perry was once again the catalyst, claiming wickets in successive balls to remove Sophie Dunkley and Sarah Bryce after Charis Pavely had early induced a thin edge from Tammy Beaumont.

Keshav Maharaj bowled 28 overs unchanged from the Media Centre End, albeit with weather-related interruptions, as South Africa frustrated West Indies on the third day of a rain-affected Test. The squeeze only brought four wickets, and with 90 minutes lost in the day and more rain on the way, the chances of victory for either side seems slim, but South Africa will consider themselves as having the upper hand.
West Indies are 212 runs behind on a slow, dry pitch, and runs continue to be hard to come by. South Africa only added 13 runs to their overnight score but managed their highest first innings total in nine away Tests since Christchurch 2022 but needed quick wickets to make it count. They were blunted by the West Indies' line-up and committed a few lapses in the field on a surface unsuited to urgency.
