Scorecard
Powered by their top order, Pakistan Cricket Academy ended their tour of Africa on an emphatic note, winning by 106 runs at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi. A late collapse saw them lose five wickets in 2.3 overs, but their total of 254 was too stiff an ask for the hosts, especially without Steve Tikolo, who is suffering from a shoulder injury.
Pakistan lost opener Asad Shafiq in the first over, but from then on the hosts dominated as Raheel Majeed and Khurram Manzoor added 175 for the second wicket. Manzoor, the captain, scored 76 off 95 balls, with four fours and a six, before he was out to his opposition counterpart Thomas Odoyo.
The duo went at a rate of more than five an over. Majeed made 106 off 120 deliveries. Medium-pacer Lameck Onyango dismissed Majeed, and then took three wickets in the 50th over to end with figures of 4 for 49.
Pakistan's opening bowlers then made inroads into Kenyan batting line-up, taking two apiece to leave them tottering at 32 for 4. Mohammad Aamer, a left-armer who has even caught the attention of Wasim Akram, removed the openers and Junaid Zia took out No's 3 and 4. Rakep Patel hung around for a 63-ball 20 even as Kenya's hopes of a win were looking dim.
Patel was one of three wickets for legspinner Yasir Shah, who also dismissed Odoyo for 12. Jimmy Kamande top scored for the hosts with an unbeaten 39, while Majeed capped a fine day with two lower-order victims.
The win continued Pakistan's unbeaten streak; the Academy team's five wins in Kenya came after wins in all five of their matches in Zimbabwe.
