Right, we are back in a couple of days for the second match of this series. For the moment, it's goodbye from scorer Thilak Ramamurthy, and commentary team of myself, Debayan Sen, and Sreshth Shah. See you on Friday.

Tamim Iqbal:"No complaints. We bowled really well. The way Fizz started was very good. Rubel also started very well. The young guy, Hasan, bowled really well. The spinners were also really good. Shakib and Mehidy also bowled really well. It was a very difficult wicket to bat on. Even if you wanted to play aggresive shots, you couldn't. Initially when I saw the wicket, I thought it would play really good. There was no sun throughout the day, so you cannot blame anyone. On this kind of wicket, you can't go in and swing your bat. I thought whoever batted batted quite sensibly."

Shakib Al Hasan gets the man of the match award.: "My focus was to put the ball in the right areas, and let the pitch do the rest of the work. [On batting] To be honest, I don't count the domestic games. Outside the dressing room, people may think about those performance. I thought I was batting well, and I got out. I've got to do better in my next game. We were all a bit nervous playing after such a long time, but this [win] will calm us down for the next game."

Jason Mohammed: "It was a bit disappointing for us. The wicket wasn't the easiest one for us, but we didn't have enough partnerships. Even the ones that got starts, didn't convert that for us. It was a great partnership [between Powell and Mayers] but we have to work with the positives. It's a difficult place to come and play cricket. The wicket was turning and slow, but we have to put things in place for the next game. [On bowling] Whatever score we put up, our work is to go there and work hard. Akeal on debut was very good, picking up three wickets and being very economical."

5.47 pm Waiting for the post-match presentation now

Al Nurain : "Painful to see Bangladesh batsmen defending these lob ups. Don't know what would've happened if Windies had another genuine spinner." --- I think the world around, the pandemic and the associate lockdown has been less charitable to the batsmen than the bowlers. Possibly because of this, the first few appearances by all batting units have been a touch tentative

5.38 pm They've been made to work hard, but they've got there in the end pretty comfortably. Knuckle-bumps all around, and this result never really looked in doubt, perhaps from about an hour into the West Indies innings. Mustafizur gave the hosts the perfect start with the ball, before Shakib Al Hasan completely choked up the middle order. There was a brief resistance from Mayers and Powell, but once Powell fell to debutant Hasan Mahmud, West Indies didn't take long to dissipate again for 122. In the resonse, you have to say now in hindsight, that Tamim iqbal and Liton Das did well to set a decent foundation, because once Akeal Hosein came on to bowl, the runs just dried up. Hosein finishes with 3 for 26 on debut, and Jason Mohammed also bowled well to take the wicket of Tamim Iqbal. Alzarri Joseph enjoyed a lead role with the new ball, and bowled eight outstanding overs on the trot. Perhaps West Indies will want to reinforce their spin reserves for the next game? One thing's for sure -- they need to bat much, much better in order to be competitive in this series
