The hearing for Matthew Elliott's appeal against Cricket Victoria's decision to refuse him permission to move to South Australia will be on Thursday, May 5. The tribunal will be chaired by the judge Gordon Lewis, Cricket Australia's code-of-behaviour commissioner, Steven Skala, a former first-class player, will be Cricket Australia's representative and John McMullan will attend for the Australian Cricketers' Association.
Elliott last month applied for a transfer from Victoria, his home state for 12 years, to South Australia. With several other Bushrangers also seeking to move - Jonathan Moss and Brad Hodge to New South Wales, and Matthew Inness to either Queensland or Western Australia, the squad could be hard hit next season.
Elliott, 33, began his first-class career with Victoria in 1992-93, and has an excellent record, scoring 15,552 runs at 49.68. His Test record is relatively modest, though - 1172 runs from 21 matches at 33. 48.
